Stakeholders involved in Uber/Careem services

Stakeholder is an entity that shows an interest in a business or company and directly or indirectly can influence that particular company. It goes other way true as well. A stakeholder might be the one who is influenced directly or directly by a company or business. Typical stakeholders are investors, employees, customers, suppliers, communities, governments, or trade associations. Stakeholders can be categorized in different ways. Following are some major categories of stakeholders:

·         Primary and Secondary Stakeholders:  Primary stakeholders are the one who are directly affected by the outcome of a project. That’s why they are the most concerned about the success of project. On the other hand, secondary stakeholders play their part in building and development of the project but their role and impact is comparatively limited. For example, in a goods manufacturing factory, the owner is the primary stakeholder and the labor is the secondary stakeholder.

·         Internal and External Stakeholders: Project manager and other staff are considered as internal stakeholders because they are directly involved in developing the project. They have authority to manage the project by handling responsibility of work performance. External stakeholders include vendors, suppliers, competitors etc.

·          Direct and Indirect Stakeholders: Direct stakeholders are the one who are influenced by day to day activities. This might includes the staff or labor force you have applied for the project. Indirect stakeholders are the one who are interested only in final product i-e end users and customers.

Now we have our pre-requirements done, we can easily dive into our main task which is to elaborate the stakeholders of a ride booking application. Following is the list of possible stakeholders with brief description:

1.     Project Team: The team which has planned and implemented whole business idea is one of the main stakeholders. This includes the manager, staff, and captains.

2.      Competitors: Both Uber and Careem are business competitors and get influenced directly by each other. For example, if Uber has relatively low fares, people who use Careem normally, would have switched to uber. So change in operating activity of one entity is directly affecting the other.

3.      End User: The end user or customer is one of the important stakeholders as the whole idea and its success relies upon user experience. If the user is not satisfied by the services, the project might have not progressed.

4.      Software Companies: Software development companies and digital business ideas go hands-in hands. User’s satisfaction is directly depends upon interface of the application. If user is unhappy about functionalities of application, he may quit using the services.

5.     Advertising Agencies: Advertisement and marketing are necessary for the brand recognition. For this purpose, you have to purchase services from advertisement agencies. They put your offer with brand name in a presentable way and display it to the targeting audience through different medium. Brand’s success is very much dependent on successful marketing.

6.     Advertising Channels: For advertisement, a medium is required. This may include social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube Gmail etc. Careem also used billboards to display their offers.

7.     Conventional Drivers: Since the success of online ride booking, there is a significant decline in booking vehicles through conventional method. As a result, those drivers whose vehicles are not registered to Uber or Careem have suffered a lot.

8.      Partner Brands: Recently, Careem has introduced food delivery service. Many food brands have registered their food delivery through Careem. If those brands are putting attractive offers, then their customers are using Careem services to get their food delivered. In this way, both the entities are directly affecting each other.

              Uber Buying Careem:-

Social and environmental factors play an important part in establishment of a brand in a particular geographical region. In the recent past, Careem had to sell a big portion of their shares to Uber just because they ignored these factors. What actually happened was that Careem displayed a controversial advertisement which was against the custom and norms of the society. As a result, they had to suffer a huge loss in their well-established business.

To summarize, stakeholders play a vital role among them and have great impact. Therefore, it is necessary to identify and understand all the possible stakeholders and make the strategies and policies accordingly.

Fiverr gigs that require no skills: Start earning today

Skills like digital marketing, graphic designing, web application development, content writing, software quality assurance, etc. have a significant scope on online marketplaces like Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer. But these niches require proper learning and training in order to take command and start earning from them. But it requires time and sometimes money as well. What if someone doesn't have any of these skills and still wants to earn from freelancing? If you are one of those persons, then don't worry, I have a solution for you. In this article, I will tell you about some Fiverr gigs that require no skills and you can start providing services today.

1. Remove background of Pictures

With the evolution of cameras and smart phones, photography has become the integral part of our life and our pictures often require editing to look perfect. Many of the times, captured image looks fine but the background doesn't. That background can be removed or replaced by an attractive one. So start offering this offer on Fiverr. Canva is one of the best tool for this purpose. Buy the premium package and start earning. If you have your gig ranked properly, you are definitely going to earn  4 to 5 times more money than you are paying to Canva.

Other than Canva, many tools are available online as well as for android which can efficiently remove backgrounds. Google is there for you, search about them and choose which you think is most suitable.

2. Make Business Cards

Again Canva is here for your help and this time even free of cost. Designing business cards and posters does not require special training and learning. The only thing it requires is practice. The more you design, the pro you can be! In Canva, there are free templates available of different elements including posters, business cards, flyers, menus, announcements etc. You can choose the template of your own choice and by simple drag and drop, you can make attractive and eye-catchy content.

3. Convert to PDF and vice-versa

Interconversion to PDF format is a task almost every person performs in his daily life. This task may require 2 to 3 clicks so one may think that why someone would buy this service? Can't he perform by himself? Why would he spend money on this simple task? Consider a manager of a particular firm who has 100+ files that require to be converted into PDF format and he has a short submission deadline say two days. He definitely has many other tasks to perform. So he's not gonna dive in and convert all the documents to PDF by himself. He would look for a person who can perform the task for him before the deadline. You can be that person. So start offering this service and make money online without any skill and investment.

4. Data Entry/Virtual assistance

If you have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Access, you can perform the role of someone's assistance. This task mainly requires a little research on the internet, collect data and enter according to a given pattern in the required format. No rocket science involved! Offer this gig and start earning today. Moreover, there are plenty of tutorials available for free if you want to revise the concepts.

To summarize, these are the gigs (according to my limited knowledge) that require no skills one does not need to wait for making money. One bonus skill I would like to tell you that requires a little skill i-e PowerPoint presentation creation. But even if you are a beginner, with a little effort, you can learn and earn big. That's it for now. Happy freelancing!😀

Transgender Empowerment

Transgender empowerment means providing equal rights to transgender community and setting same standards in all the aspects of life as for men and women. They are the essential aspect of the society. Imagine all the transgender working for the welfare of country and its economy by adopting respectable professions like teaching, cooking, painting, repairing etc. I mean every profession is acceptable to me but begging is something I really hate. So during our journey at Amal academy, when we were asked to choose a topic for our mega project, one of my group members proposed the idea of “Transgender Empowerment”. I was the one who instantly agreed upon it. Others were reluctant as it is a difficult as well as dangerous task. After some discussion, everyone was convinced and we finalized our project. During the journey of almost one and a half month, different interesting and shocking things revealed to us. I would like to share some of the experiences so if anyone has intentions of studying and doing research in this regard, may earn some benefit.

As our first step, we needed to conduct interviews from certain number of transgender so we can have a glimpse of their problems and possible solutions to them. In this regard, our first destination was a coaching center where transgender of different ages were working. Finance manager of that institute (who is also a transgender) listened to our plan very patiently. We were happy as we got a good start. But suddenly tables turned around.  We were asked to pay an amount of Rs.10, 000 in order to reach and conduct interviews. There was nothing to do except saying ‘Thank you so much’ and leaving with a fake smile. That’s what we did.

That was a solid excuse for us to quit and simply change the project but we didn’t. We decided to go on with the different strategy because to every problem, there is a solution. This kept us driven. Our next target was the traffic signals where they usually beg. Initially, no transgender agreed to record the interview. But after some effort, we convinced one. We conducted our first and last interview of the day and went home. Next day, one of our female group member told that one of her uncle saw her at that spot and inquired her father that was she doing there. She was really embarrassed. We decided not to take female members with us in future.

I have once merely told some of my university friends about the project. Luckily, one of them got links with HR manager of ‘Gender Guardian School’. They arranged us the interviews, well not free of cost but in much lower rates i-e Rs.1000 per interview. There we conducted two interviews.  One of transgender name was Khushboo. I would like to share its story.

At that time, Khushboo was doing a knitting course at Gender Guardian School. When asked about her childhood, she almost burst into tears. At home, her mother was the only person who cared about her. Her siblings used to curse her. Khushboo was 13 when her mother died. Very next day to her mother’s death when RASM-e-QUL was not even done, her elder brother throw her out of the house. Four days straight, she spent days and nights on footpaths and benches. After struggling for many days, she got a job at a house as a maid. There she faced different kinds of physical and verbal torture which is a separate long story.  At Gender Guardian School, Khushboo is much satisfied with her life and you can’t even imagine how thankful she is to the owner of the school.

Well that was one of the great highlights from my fellowship journey at Amal academy. The fellowship has ended but project is going on. Alhamdulillah, a transgender (can’t disclose the name) who used to beg on the streets, has done cooking course from Gender Guardian School and now earning as a cook. We need more like her.

Whenever we have a get together, we specially appreciate our friend who proposed that idea and provided us all with opportunity to give back something to the society.😇😇
